How does it work

First the paper work is done,  followed by a safety briefing. Then shooters are assigned a mentor to supervise their shooting.

First you will shoot 25 rounds of ammunition at a target on 50 metres range from a laying position prone or from a bench in a seated position if you can not lay down.

Second you  shoot 25 rounds from an "Air Rifle" from a supported position standing on the 10 meter range.

To organise your first shoot,  email us, email address is on the contacts page . You do need to contact us prior to showing up. We need time to organise your mentor and equipment.

or  If you just want to have a look, drop in any Saturday between 08:30 am and 10:00 am and the "Range Safety Officer" (yellow vest) will assist you.,

What do you wear to have a shoot:-  Long sleeved shirt or jacket and trousers ,shorts. Enclosed shoes (runners etc)

You will need Photo ID.

Age limit? Yes, you must be over 11 years old and if you are under 18 years old you must have a parent or guardian with you. Photo ID is required.

We would suggest that you read information in titled Safety and General Shooting information on our web page.

We do not allow the General Public to come to the range and shoot unless they have attended a “Come and Try” day first. After attending a Come and Try, we do allow shooters to return and shoot with our club as visitors paying normal club rates of $20:00 plus ammunition cost ($9:00 per 50 rounds). After three visits, visitors are expected to become members of the club. New shooters on return visits will be asked to attend the Range at 9:30 am on Saturdays for approximately 4 to 5 weeks so supervision can be carried out by licensed club members. After the 4-5 weeks new shooters will be able to attend the range to shoot at the normal club start time of 8:30 am.
